Asbestos Surveys

PA Group UK Limited are a UKAS accredited inspection body (No. 4265), which ensures that our asbestos surveys conform to ISO/IEC17020:2012.  All of our surveys are carried out in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive’s guidance HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide. All of the samples taken during surveys are analysed at our in-house UKAS accredited testing laboratory.

All PA Group surveyors hold the internationally recognised BOHS proficiency module P402 - Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings, or the equivalent RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Surveying.

Asbestos survey information is collected on-site via hand held electronic tablets and delivered wirelessly to systems based at our head office in Dartford, Kent. On completion of the technical review and quality control process, reports and information are delivered to our clients electronically via email.

Our surveying services can be offered on an emergency basis and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Types of Survey

Asbestos Reinspections

The most common form of asbestos inspection is the annual reinspection's that are required to monitor the condition of asbestos containing materials identified in a previous survey.  The frequency of the re-inspection should not exceed 12 months and should also be based on an assessment of risk. Some asbestos containing materials that present a higher risk should be considered for re-inspection more frequently than 12 months.

PA Group offer Asbestos Reinspection services that ensure the regular monitoring and assessment of risk and in so doing, assists the Duty Holder’s responsibilities of managing asbestos in buildings.

We also ensure that areas of buildings that weren’t accessed originally are surveyed so that the asbestos register is as robust as possible.  We are also able to deliver clients labelling policies and ensure that labels are applied to areas of the building if required.

When asbestos containing materials have been damaged and the risk identified to be higher than original, we will offer recommendations for safe management which may include removal or encapsulation.

All inspection services are conducted in accordance with all the relevant Health and Safety Executive guidance including HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide.

Asbestos Sampling

We offer routine and emergency bulk sampling and analysis services to clients who are concerned about suspect materials in buildings or structures who do not wish to carry out a full survey.

All sampling and analysis services are conducted in accordance with the relevant Health and Safety Executive guidance including HSG248 Asbestos: The Analysts Guide and HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide.

Sampling results can be delivered to clients within a few hours following the collection of a sample, if required.

An Asbestos Bulk Sampling Report (ABSR) will be issued with an annotated plan illustrating the location of the sample/s (if drawn/required).

Recommendations are given for the management of asbestos containing materials if positively identified, which may include removal or encapsulation.

Our sampling services can be offered on an emergency basis and are available 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
